Cam Schlittler’s emergence in the MLB playoffs is the kind of postseason performance that skyrockets a young player's profile. Capitalizing on this momentum is critical for investors looking to identify the next breakout talent in baseball.

Cam Schlittler and Austin Riley opened the MLB postseason with electric performances. Schlittler was simply untouchable in an incredible 117-pitch outing and blanked the Red Sox across 6 1/3 innings to move the Yankees one win away from the ALDS. Earlier in the first day of the playoffs, Riley delivered the most clutch hit of the Wild Card Series: a go-ahead, three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning. That round-tripper put the Braves on top of the Phillies, and with the benefit of hindsight, Philadelphia manager Don Mattingly might regret calling upon his closer in the seventh inning. Each of the four Wild Card Series remains undecided, but looking ahead, we made some bold predictions for the rest of the postseason, including a "4-4" series for Pete Crow-Armstrong. He's in the midst of a legendary season, and the best might be yet to come.

Portland Trail Blazers won't have Ja Morant in the lineup for a few weeks after injuring his hamstring. Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant reacts after the game against the Los Angeles Lakers. | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect The Portland Trail Blazers are shaking their heads after losing starting point guard Ja Morant to a hamstring injury that will sideline him for at least a month. Morant showed signs of strength during the first four games of the season, but left the team's most recent contest against his former Memphis Grizzlies team and did not return. Some members of the Portland Trail Blazers On SI staff explained how Morant's injury and absence will affect the team. Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson drives to the basket against Memphis Grizzlies forward Jerami Grant. | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect "The Blazers will need to rely on the backcourt depth they have at their disposal. Though the number of guards on the roster was seen as a negative heading into the season, that abundance can now prove itself as a calculated advantage by the front office. "Scoot Henderson will need to improve on what has been an underwhelming start to his campaign after looking like a potential breakout candidate in the preseason. Hopefully, with extended minutes and an expanded role, Henderson can develop a rhythm similar to what we saw at the tail end of last season." — Sahal Arwo
Greetings, Falcoholics! Friday's practices have come and gone, and we now have an update on the health of both the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons have had a lengthly injury report all week, and there's some notable names to keep an eye on prior to Sunday's game. As mentioned, and as you can see, the Falcons have a pretty long injury report on Friday. Several players have been designated as questionable to play, but only one has been officially ruled out: running back Brian Robinson. With Robinson being held out due to his ongoing hamstring injury, expect a heavy dose of Bijan Robinson and some reps for Khalil Herbert. A key name that popped up on Friday's report was right guard Chris Lindstrom, who is dealing with a personal matter that kept him off the practice field. He has no game designation, so it's expected that he will be out there on Sunday. The big news for the Buccaneers on Friday was that wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has been ruled out with a concussion and foot injury.
