The Brewers' early dominance over the Dodgers has shifted the landscape of the NLCS. With roster management and experimental rules constantly debated, depth and adaptability remain the keys for these organizations.
(This is SO HARD to say, but) YAY! The Brewers won! They beat the Dodgers twice, the Evil Empire, Part II! There's an article below that describes a major change to baseball that is being tested in the AFL — Forcing outfielders to lineup in a particular spot prior to each pitch. This is to promote more extra-base hits. AWESOME! Why not just eliminate singles — make every hit to the outfield an automatic double! Just think, PCA can set the MLB doubles and triples records by August! This is stupid. Way back when, when infielders extremely overloaded the hitter's power side — that was hurting baseball as nearly every ball hit in that direction was an automatic out. It was damaging the game. Much differently, outfielders cover a much larger area and make adjustments by more that whether the hitters are dominant to one field. For each individual hitter, scouting and spray charts determine if the outfielder needs to move more to the power side, or less. If they need to move deeper, or shallower. It is detailed, studied analysis, not a "Here's a LH batter — everybody move to the second base side." Instead, MLB wants to put a ball and chain on outfielders. Which is surprising, because while I disagree, a large number of people think that snaring a home run over an eight-foot fence is the most exciting play in baseball. If it was a 10-foot fence, sure, that would be really impressive. (I almost went into a diatribe of what I think are more exciting plays, but I digress).

Portland Trail Blazers won't have Ja Morant in the lineup for a few weeks after injuring his hamstring. Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant reacts after the game against the Los Angeles Lakers. | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect The Portland Trail Blazers are shaking their heads after losing starting point guard Ja Morant to a hamstring injury that will sideline him for at least a month. Morant showed signs of strength during the first four games of the season, but left the team's most recent contest against his former Memphis Grizzlies team and did not return. Some members of the Portland Trail Blazers On SI staff explained how Morant's injury and absence will affect the team. Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson drives to the basket against Memphis Grizzlies forward Jerami Grant. | IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect "The Blazers will need to rely on the backcourt depth they have at their disposal. Though the number of guards on the roster was seen as a negative heading into the season, that abundance can now prove itself as a calculated advantage by the front office. "Scoot Henderson will need to improve on what has been an underwhelming start to his campaign after looking like a potential breakout candidate in the preseason. Hopefully, with extended minutes and an expanded role, Henderson can develop a rhythm similar to what we saw at the tail end of last season." — Sahal Arwo
Greetings, Falcoholics! Friday's practices have come and gone, and we now have an update on the health of both the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Falcons have had a lengthly injury report all week, and there's some notable names to keep an eye on prior to Sunday's game. As mentioned, and as you can see, the Falcons have a pretty long injury report on Friday. Several players have been designated as questionable to play, but only one has been officially ruled out: running back Brian Robinson. With Robinson being held out due to his ongoing hamstring injury, expect a heavy dose of Bijan Robinson and some reps for Khalil Herbert. A key name that popped up on Friday's report was right guard Chris Lindstrom, who is dealing with a personal matter that kept him off the practice field. He has no game designation, so it's expected that he will be out there on Sunday. The big news for the Buccaneers on Friday was that wide receiver Emeka Egbuka has been ruled out with a concussion and foot injury.
