PHILADELPHIA — LeBron James’ acclimation hasn’t been perfect. There have been times he’s seemed unsure of his place within the Sixers’ offense. There have been bouts of inefficient shooting, something he’s rarely struggled with during his career. And there have been Father Time moments. Indeed, on Wednesday night, somebody named Jalen Slawson from the Indiana Pacers chased James down in the open floor and pinned his layup against the glass. James’ playmaking and passing have masked some of those struggles. But fans have eagerly awaited the arrival of the LeBron James they’ve come to know over the years. In Friday night’s 98-93 win over the New York Knicks, James looked more like the man who’s dominated the league for almost a quarter of a century than the one who’s been trying to ramp himself up in a 41-year-old body. There were the nine rebounds and the eight assists. More importantly, the speed and the burst off the dribble in the half-court were there. Instead of him being chased down, James did the chasing, blocking OG Anunoby’s layup deep in the second half. For the first time in a 76ers uniform, James scored 20 points. “I’m just trying to get more and more comfortable with what we’re running offensively,” James said. “I think every game, every week that I’m here, my body will continue to ramp up and I’ll feel better.”
